Dr. Seuss Dress Up Days

Celebrate a love of reading and unite as a school with these ideas based on books by Dr. Seuss:

Cat in the Hat Day - wear red and white
Grinch Day - wear green
Foot Day - wear socks that do not match
Diffendoofer Day - wear striped shirts
Read a Shirt Day - wear a shirt filled with words
Sneetches Day - make and pin a green star on your shirt
Hat Day - pay to wear a hat and donate the money to the public library, buy a classroom book, etc.

    Have students make a list of hats that denote jobs (ex: fireman's hat, chef's hat, etc.). Draw a person wearing a hat. Have students write about it.  For younger students, provide the prompt, "When I grow up. I want to be a ..."
