Goodnight Gorilla

by Peggy Rathmann - A nearly wordless story about a clever gorilla who tags along behind the zookeeper and lets out the animals as fast as the zookeeper can lock them up.

Introduce the book and tell the children a little bit about it. Follow that with a comment or question
that is related to the story such as, There are very few words in this book so we’re going to use the pictures
and our imaginations to decide what is happening. Encourage a discussion so the children can comment,
ask questions, and express their feelings. Set the stage for listening by asking an “I wonder” statement
based on the cover illustration.
